I truly believe that authenticity must be a daily practice in order to experience meaningful connection with self and others. I work from a client-centered place of compassion and recognize that you are a complex multifaceted individual; therefore my approach must be uniquely tailored to ensure success. I practice with a variety of theoretical models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Relational-Cultural Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. I believe our values are our guiding light, and when we stray from these, we often experience psychological suffering. Although suffering is a part of life, we as humans sometimes increase this pain in order to avoid pain and discomfort. My goal in therapy is to guide clients towards these values and walk alongside them as they move towards a more fulfilling and valued life. My clinical experience includes externships at an outpatient facility serving sex offenders, outpatient treatment on an integrated eating disorder team, an outpatient community counseling center, three college counseling centers, and group private practice.

I am a licensed psychologist with over 14 years of experience with the following:

  • mood issues such as anxiety and depression

  • disordered eating

  • life transitions

  • relationship struggles

  • premarital and marital counseling

  • women's issues

  • sex therapy

  • grief and loss

  • general stressors from daily life

  • group psychotherapy

Additionally, I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ population, assisting individuals, couples, and families with the coming out process, understanding sexuality and gender identities, transition related letters for surgery, mood and relationship struggles, and finally finding your voice in the world. My experience also includes creating and facilitating three gender spectrum groups throughout my pre and postdoctoral experience and completion of a year-long clinical postdoctoral fellowship in Transgender Healthcare at the University of Colorado (2016).

I am also a certified sex therapist through AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators Counselors and Therapists) and provide sex therapy for individuals and couples. This certification included 160 hours of continuing education, 50 hours of individual and group supervision, and over 300 client hours focused on providing quality therapeutic care for a variety of sexual issues. For a list of sex therapy topics I work with, please navigate to our Sex Therapy page.

Another area of wellness I am passionate about is perinatal mental health. I am completing certification through Postpartum Support International for Perinatal Mental Health which includes treatment of postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD and psychosis, infertility, hormone imbalances, and all things parenting in the first year of life.

Outside of therapy, I offer professional business consultation for those who may be starting a private practice or who want to grow and scale their practice in the Greater Denver Area. This is a passion project, and I enjoy assisting fellow colleagues find agency along their professional journeys.
